It's interesting that the Dean boar might be spreading their range a bit. I've now heard two seperate recent reports from the Welsh side of the Wye way down below Monmouth. There is a chance that these might have come across from the farm at Usk but probably not.

No pact here, but I am sure I saw JDM tatooed on his ass. And has I`m the one that spotted him first and seen him most times, he`s mine !
But, seriousley whoever gets to him first will have to be bit smart as he didn`t get to that size by being dumb, and good luck to whoever that is.
There are quite a few large boars there so I don`t think we would be affecting the status of the herd, maybe we would be improving it, as sometimes you find a big old dominant boar will tend to stop the younger ones getting to the sows and gilts and slow the breeding down, if he does go a few youngsters may get a chance to serve more of the sows/gilts.
Just a theory.
P.S. as for Wayne chasing anything anywhere, now that is something I`d like to see

As John said first come first served, I would like John to get him as he got one for me, BUT We had a chance once and choose to shoot a smaller one with him, same boar i don't know but a huge animal dwarfed the one we shot which was about 140lbs. Would I let him go twice
Had another last night posted a picy in the trophy room, one youngster that won't be serving any sows.

Medal Boar

Hi All
For anyone interested I have posted a picture in the trophy room of my Wild Boar tusks I have just received back from the taxidermist.
The lower tusks measured average length of 22.5cm, and he scored 122.5 cic points the 1st uk gold medal.

Congratulations Wayne, very impressive - does the big boy have a similar armoury or is he just big in the body?

I can't find out what the current World record from Hungary scored but the previous record (up to 2004) from Bulgaria was 158.2 with a tusk length of 27.1cms and the longest tusk from Bulgaria was 29.2 cms. This makes your boar very respectable in a European context and there must be bigger boar out there.
