What is the best whisky

"Best whisky"... Don't really understand the question. If you're into whisky, there's some you might like a lot and some you might not like so much, maybe even some you'd rather not touch but the only best... is your choice, no-one else's. The Macallan's pretty damned fine though :D

.The best whiskey.....!

Well the best whiskey is Scotch whisky..... all of them. From the highlands, the Lowlands and to the Western Isles and up to the Northern Isles they are all good either malt blended, peaty, clear or soft, sherry vat, brandy vat all amber nector.........

There is no such thing as a bad Scotch Whiskey or, may I say, Irish Whiskey.

However, be warned there is a bad whiskey to be found on the shelves............... Suntora from Japan. Eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeek

Hic.............

I know this will probably raise a debate. I'm not a whisky buff, but do enough a wee dram.
I've tried & really liked macallan & balvinne 15 year old.
Just working my way through a bottle of Bowmore islay malt.
Any other suggestions for a really good malt ?????.

MERRY CHRISTMAS & A HAPPY NEW YEAR.
Whisky is my favourite liquid fuel....has to be a Johnnie Walker black label or blue label as a treat. I also like the Dalmore.......i have the wood from a Dalmore cask at the moment ready to make my pens, lovely aroma when the wood is warming up on the machine. Offcuts go in the fire and the house smells wonderful. :)

Ok lads I too like a dram or ????? but be it Scotch whisky or Irish whiskey!!! they can all be very very good, but I have to be patriotic the Irish blends rule...:stir: with Bushmills blackbush topping the poll it might not be the best Irish but its not the worst either, value wise it's very hard to beat...hic.......lol

I love a good wee dram. Try a few but rav must be the 10 year old glenturret. It is like ice water going down your gullet.
Worth a try and does not cost a lot

My choice at the moment is glen moray, reasonably priced and availalable, bushmills are very good, as are the peaty, smokey islay's, try them all, your bound to fide one you like, its a bit like what bullet flies truest through your rifle, you can't beat a wee dram after a stalking trip, sucsessfull or not!

Your a long time dead.
Cheers ya all.

jameson 18yr old limited reserve
middleton very rare 1985
both are very very nice it's very nearly a shame to drink them

For me it's got to be those peaty Islay whiskys. Laphroaig is superb, though I can't make my mind up if I prefer the Quarter Cask version or not, or Lagavulin. Both have been described as sucking on a burned stick but that's my thing I guess. Can't recommend them enough.

Whiskey from Ireland, still has to be Jamesons (also makes the only Irish Coffee that tastes right to me) but Redbreast takes a lot of beating.

Glenlivit ,Jura ,macallan long list of others just some I sample don't like Islay malts too peaty for me
norma
