Where have all the people gone

Hi I have only just join today, and been looking through the discussion, it would be nice to have some idea where everyone is located. I have been stalking for about 1 1/2 years, I got into stalking because the land where I fly birds of prey on have a small deer problem, I have always been into shooting with a rifle, Fox vermin ect. But really glad I have got into stalking.

Welcome . What birds do you fly? I inherited a Barn Owl once, lovely creature but it didn't have the same 'Wow' factor as a Eagle Owl or a Harris Hawk. I saw a Bengal Eagle Owl catch a Yorkshire Terrier at a Falconary demonstration once. I was the only one present laughing, the owner definately didn't see the funny side

Hi Carl I am flying a female Goshawk, I breed Peregrine falcons, and this year I have bred some goshawks, It has taken me around 8 years trying.

Goshawks are reputed as being the most difficult of the raptors to man is that true?

Their reintroduction by the likes of the RSPB has been fraught with controversy from day one. Having seen them first hand at work I can see why.

I have flown a few goshawks in the past, they are quite hard to man but that is why I think they are so special, To see one hunting is like haveing all your birthdays come at once.
I have a week in Scotland flying hawks every Year with some friends and had a day stalking at fort william.

I've resurrected this thread to remind us of how things have been in the past on this site. The endless argueements and bickering!

The site right now is very healthy, lots of new members and folk putting their opinions across without worrying about being made to feel foolish. What arguements there are, are good natured.

I'm really enjoying this site, I've just been made redundant and feel pretty awful about it, but at least I can come on the site and be amongst friends. Thank you all for your interesting deer facts and opinions, you really make my day!

Thanks Rob Mac the site just keeps getting better!

Well lets hope that the idiots that were posting here and ruining a perfectly good site take note this time.

God only knows Admin has thrown them off the site enough times, perhaps their slow learners? The site appears to be clean at the moment?

I have had some very nice Pm's from members of late, thank you to everyone for your kind thoughts and comments, they are appreciated.

Lets all hope it stays that way as most of the people on here are very honest, down to earth people who want nothing more than a sociable, good natured and well manered conversation and discussion about our main love in life (apart from our families) DEER.

I have seen all lot of bickering wars that had 6 or 7 posters having a go. Crazy! Once one starts people just get dragged in and before you know it sides are drawn and its all out girlie hand slapping.

Personally I'm still a member, as I've only shot one deer this year so far! To cleanse my 'inner chi' of the act i've lit some josh sticks and ate a lettuce sandwich without the venison filling whilst singing 'where have all the flowers gone?'

Just been super busy.

Plus sometimes you guys talk about things for which I have no reference. I direct your attention to the "Captain Scarlet" business. What or who the heck is Captain Scarlet and his buddies? Most confusing.

I'll try to stop by more often. I miss hearing what's happening on your side of the world. Plus I learn a lot about stalking just from reading the posts on this forum.
