Once you get everything laid out it's not too bad. It's quite easy to make paper templates from existing guns and transfer them to the blank. Be warned, it takes a very long time and is unimaginably boring!That's good to know! I see that you're Suffolk based. My old stamping ground, before I "emigrated". I'm over there 2 - 3 times a year, as I winter sheep at Iken. Just got back from fetching a load home a couple of days ago, actually.

Barrel bedding tool, Brownells have a commercial version HERE, in different sizes made up in discs, The set I have used had one handle and you changed the washers/discs to the diameter requiredIt's more of a heavy duty scraper than a rasp.
