It is a hell of a lot cheaper and likely easier to dabble 7PRC in something like a Tikka T3X.
I actually don't see much in difference for personal use between it and the 7mmRemMag, I don't hunt beyond about 400m so BC is really blah as terminal bullet performance is more important, horsepower is almost identical and being old means just like my jeans magnums have belts.
If you need a 7mm mag within 400m I will just shoot it with my 30-06, same outcome.
Doesn't mean I don't want one, the advertising is awesome….

I took my 284 out to 1300 yds reliably. Had a shot of a pals 7saum, very nice, bit quicker. Pondered and decided any 7mm wasn't enough of a jump and going 300prc. Quality brass availability plays into that too.
Can you happily source 300 prc brass ?
The attraction of the 300wsm is lapua have started making brass for it .

300prc brass is nae problem. I looked at the 7-300wsm, either necking up from 270wsm Norma or down from Lapua 300wsm. But 300PRC just seems so much easier. If you're doing F open then sticking to 7mm makes sense. On brass availability, the thing is 7-6.5prc, quality 6 5prc brass necked up to 7mm, lower pressures, top end 284 velocities

There are folks across the pond doing the 7/300 PRC. The barrel doesn’t last long but from the accuracy photos and speed they are achieving it looks like one hell of a combination.
The 300 PRC is the new kid on the block. Given Lapua are making both WSM and 300 PRC only time will tell, when and if people decide to try the former in competition to give it some public confidence.
If you are setup for the WSM then I agree with @Ronin that it would be the emperors new cloths. Also, with more powder comes more recoil, so the 300 PRC will take more steering.
What I will say is the 7mm’s punch above their weight. SAUM for the simple life
