Primers current value

Until they drop 80% in value of course 😂

It's a shame it doesn't do it more often. It is lovely when an asset class drops by 80%, provides unreal buying opportunities and then goes up many hundreds or even thousands of percent for people who are disciplined, understand how markets work and can take advantage of the one asset that so many people do not possess. Patience.

7kg muntjac doe at 50p a kg.. ammunition will soon cost more than the carcass
@ 7kg that’s only a bacon sandwich 😂 not worth shooting and running in but ideal for the freezer.

Wouldn’t bother me if it £5 a pop!

If I want to shoot a muntjac I’ll shoot a muntjac,if your trying to find a way of covering stalking costs, good luck I’ve been looking 20 years and not found the solution yet without busting a gut.

I have a friend who’s been stalking most of his life, and he sat down and totalled up what he had spent on transport, fuel, accommodation, syndicate fees, rifle, security, reloading components, reloading kit, glass, thermals, etc.etc.etc., and he reckoned each beast shot was in the region of £100 each.

People overlook the cost of the reloading kit. When I first got into it, I sat down and calculated how many rounds I would have to load before I broke even with the club’s £1 a bang ammo. 10,000 rounds!

From memory I think it was costing me about 90p per round to reload. So it took a lot of 10 pences to cover the cost of all the kit!

I make a living out of shooting deer so I’m not compaining. I was just pointing out that the cost of ammunition can be considerable. It’s not a point of whether an animal is ‘worth shooting’ if you need to cull a large amount of muntjac you are never going to recoup much from carcass value.

I’ve been loading copper over 15 years and buying the bullets from Utah and it was still costing £1.50 a pop , I’ve never k own all this cheap reloading 😂😂

Careful of picking bottoms, you tend to get smelly fingers 😂

Fed 210M are about $150,US /1000 (plus shipping and HAZMAT) when you can find them, that is. If I ordered them today it would cost $203 US to get 1000 of them to my door. ~Muir

As they say round here only two things ever come down, that's rain and knickers, everything else goes up and stays up. I've a good stock of primers, powder and bullets as I used to buy one or the other so as to make a token purchase every time I popped into my mate's gun shop over the years. Now he no longer stocks components I'm building up a stock of Opinel knives which are always handy.

A lot of my reloading components I had ordered in, and paid for in advance.. your not depriving others of consumables as they’d not have been on the shelf otherwise… People are just frustrated that they either didn’t have the foresight to invest in their hobby or interest, or lacked the funds to make such an investment..

A fellow shooter at the rifle club I’m a member of had the opportunity to buy in with me on a bulk primer order… when it came to the crunch to pay, he ducked out🤷🏽‍♂️..
Unless finances dictate otherwise I don’t see point of buying primers by the 100’s or even a single box of 1000.. not given how they’ve increased in price.
One of my wiser decisions a while back…

Before lockdown l bought 500 210M for around 50 quid from Rifleman.
A chap l know packed it in ,gave me 950 Rem 91/2 and 200 Federal Magnum LRP.
I reckon it is going to be a shock when that lot runs out.
Made a hole in them already.
RL15 was £49.95,now double that.
Moved to Ramshot powders for all calibres and hoover up what bargains l see.
SGC sold me 2 bottles of Hunter for a good price not long ago.Clearing stock.
Wish l had bought the third but l do have to feed my wife really..
