Just curious but I have never used a game dealer who does not ask for the feet and heads to be removed prior to collection, as they would have to pay for the waste.

I remember Bogtrotter on here having a bit of mild abuse thrown at his estate, and instead of a response like this one from obviously an employee, he came on here and defended their stance. No toys lobbed out the pram...

I know a lad who takes out guests and his attitude is (within reason), 'your not happy sir?.... No problem, don't pay then...' Obviously we know what would happen if they tried to book again...

Limulus hit it on the head too,,,do these guys not conduct the relevant inspection of the carcasses before sending to the game dealer, if so, are they not contravening the regulations around selling game?

in addition...would the game dealer not stop and say, hey, don't you guys want these trophy's?

I feel bad for the OP, if I ran an estate, I'd want to get him and his boys a new day out on my bill to get a new trophy each they could put on the wall and forget about the other incident, after all, if it's 'such' a big estate and the roe stalking is only a fraction of the operation, surely a buck or two doesn't mean much,,,about the same as 2 pricked cockbirds at full going rate, or less!

You don't have to inspect every Lymph gland! For the purpose of DSC level 2 you must inspect the Mesenteric plus one other as a minimum. Shot placement will often negate the ability to inspect some of them for instance.

If not available then 2 of the following lymph nodes: portal, gastric, bronchial, mediastinal. Thoracic organs, head and hooves and reproductive state inspected.

As the client requested to keep the head, which was still attached when collected by the game dealer, it was possibly not head shot, therefore retropharyngeal and sub-maxillary should be easily identified along with the mesenteric.

You are correct, it should be the mesenteric plus the 2 head sites (if available) OR 2 others if not. I wonder who signed off the 'No abnormal behaviour' declaration if they weren't there to witness the shot!?

Now don't really know whats going on here only the OP, which may or may not be factual, and a post from Lord Pierre
who may or may not be the keeper who is not helping his cause if he is.

The last poster said the heads were still on the deer when they were collected by the gamedealer we don't know that so we don't know if the lymph nodes were inspected or not.

I say this because a lot of gamedealers will purchase trophy's ,most seem to end up in Germany as to why you would want a trophy shot by someone else well thats a different story.

Its also possible that the trophy's were damaged in some way and the gamedealer is being used as an excuse.

PKL don't know why you think the value of a buck is about the same as a couple of pricked birds the OP said they were good bucks , how good? but good trophy's can be worth several hundred pounds by the time you take outing fees and trophy fees at so much per CIC point figures of £600 -£800 are not unknown
