Rifles Photos Please

I'm not usually in the habit of posting up posed gun pics, but thought it appropriate after posting in the thread about the cost of a stalking outfit.

This is my P-H Safari Deluxe in .243, 2nd hand off this site + mod 2nd hand off this site + scope & bipod off ebay.
All very cheap - see the other thread for details!

Bloody hell Tim

I do NOT remember that wood looking as good as that !!:-D

Whats the mod that the "unlucky gun" is wearing ??

The woodwork is wearing... ahem... Traditional Beeswax Dark Furniture Cream
(Apply sparingly, leave to dry for 15 mins, then buff gently with a soft cloth).

The mod is a Vaime. Bought 2nd hand from a chap on this site. It's a bit wide (up to .30 cal) so noise reduction isn't as good as it could be. It also sticks out a long way in front, which I know is contrary to the current trend, but I think the "long look" compliments rather than detracts from the traditional style of the rifle. As I'm the one that has to live with it, that's ok!
I admit it's a bit of a lump though! I was thinking perhaps instead of screwing it on the end of the barrel I'd attach it to a short handle. That way, if I ever come across any particularly large quarry species (such as wild boar) which aren't mentioned on my FAC then, rather than risk losing my ticket by taking a shot, I'd simply cosh the animal over the head (self defense?). Then, while it was lying unconscious, I could quite legitimately use the .243 to finish it off, on the basis of preventing further suffering. At least, that would be one way of explaining the bullet hole if I'm ever stopped and questioned :D

stock and mod have just been minted by Jager Sa (james) cheers james.

i will post a pick of the new rifle soonest as its not here yet.

IMHO the prettiest rifles are Stutzens. here my Sauer 202 Left handed stutzen in 7x64. Not a long range tool, but out to 200 yards perfectly adequate.

Bolt knob as well:-D Nice to see this lovely rifle has gone to a good new home.

Ian.

hi Ian..............thank you, been a hard couple of years but slowly getting back to my feet, and getting a few more rifles back in the cabinet.

that bolt knob is the muts nuts,

we shot it last night Ian and had a 5.7/5.8mm 4 shot group and the bolt handle makes the rifle just fell that bit better, now thinking of the same on my 20 tac,

bob.
