It has to be 6.5x55 ideal for deer and fox (even plod quotes this) and being a reasonably flat shooting round with a not too harsh recoil and a high ballistic co-effcient. No problem with 6.5x47 but why bother ? 6.5x55 ammunition is far easier to source and with a wider range of manufacturer options when looking at the initial rifle purchase.
