I had to report poaching activities last night while I was out in the lambing fields , PSoS is going to be doing patrols now . I am sure those who have not phoned in will most likely have a few questions to answer specially if they have deer in their cars.

Rural police knocking around everywhere here, they know the poachers will be out. Yet to catch any mind...

I wouldn't imagine there are any Stalkers/shooting folk who take the first shot knowing that they would have to take another, but being prepared for that scenario is important.

Both the OP "Deer were shot in the jaw, in the neck, and were still alive." and @tomreveley referred to head shots that had gone wrong...is it not reasonable to surmise if the deer was alive with a bullet smashed jaw that it was more probably a head shot gone wrong than a heart and lung shot gone wrong?

If that’s the standard then I’ll never shoot anything ever, there’s no guarantees and no 100% in the real world.
A pikey might give you a 110% guarantee but I’d have my doubts about it

It's a firearms offence if caught.
Wasn't it correct a firearms offence is a 5 year stretch.... Don't see any poachers caught with firearms getting a 5 year stretch.
