'Appalling acts of cruelty' - police shock as deers targeted by poachers in Gloucestershire

A good few years ago, the head keeper and I were laid up waiting for a truck that was lamping the estate. We thought they were Pikeys and the Hk had his rifle with him.
They arrived and came onto the ground very quickly shooting a Roe doe 100yds from us. I can tell you now the the old boy is dead what happened.
As the lamp came in our direction there was a shot and a few expletives from alongside me, the lamp exploded and the vehicle took off, followed by two more shots. I couldn't believe it he had whacked two into the side of the vehicle. I must admit I was looking over my shoulder for a week or two but nothing ever came of it. The odd boy couldn't give a toss but nothing ever bothered him anyway and he would fight his own shadow.

ANY arguments regarding head shooting and your off the site. I think we have had enough c..p talked about taking them.

Ooh. Party pooper.

I was hoping to start a thread on headshots with a bow during lockdown and it's effect on Brexit but I suppose you'll tell me that's off limits.

Nothing wrong with headshots - it’s the jaw, nose or eye shots that are the problem. Anyway, poaching... from what I’ve seen on my ground the deer are more in-your-face from visible than I remember them being in other seasons. Anyone caught deserves to have the book thrown at them.
