Brilliant, where else could you visit for some good old fashioned Godwin's law on a bank holiday!!!
To be honest my personal favourite thing about this site is all the wonderful advice you dish out ! Despite having been stalking and in possession of fac for 30 seconds , quite the meteoric rise :tiphat:

Anger ? Not angry at all just making an observation , and who’s jimbo ? You seem to keep bringing him up but I’m unsure why ? Maybe a little crush ........

Being a Glos stalker near Cirencester I can say that the RCT have their work cut out. Myself and the farmer were out foxing late at night (10-ish) a year ago with thermal/NV and were lamped by a vehicle that opened the gates to private land and drove around it as if this was the norm. They lamped us eventually and quickly sped off. It's a bit nerve wracking tbh, a sort of Mexican stand-off. "Is there a rifle behind that lamp (I can't see for the glare)?" "Am I in danger?" " Do I take cover or return fire?". When this has been reported to the police previously nothing gets done. No statements, no crime number. The concern we have as legitimate shooters is does there have to be an altercation before this is taken seriously? The potential for miscalculation is significant. Coupled with local rural traffic lights in the area being shot out and road signs being holed, only a rifle does that, it feels to us there is 'newcomer' in the are with a firearm who "needs not to have one". The recent incidents are too frequent.

Indeed it’s a big problem in one of the areas I stalk and as you say the RCT have their work cut out

Big problem up here in Scotland as well. Irritating that police dont seem to take much action.

These poachers are using rifles, and clearly have a complete and utter disregard for the law, property and safety. Chances are that using a moderated rifle these are legaly held on an FAC. And chances are the idiots will be known to other FAC holders.

FEOs at very least need to be asking some hard questions of their clients, game dealers etc. If in doubt pull their FACs.

If you know these idiots remind then that Use of a firearm at night, without lawful permission, taking deer out of season etc means you are in serious breech of Firearms legislation and proper jail time. Min is 3 years.

I know how you feel when you say you have been lamped, I control vermin on a small local farm, last year on two separate occasions I was lamped.
First one, it was a Friday evening about 11ish and I was scanning with my thermal and seen two people two fields away then the lamp went on scanning over the fields, I stood watching for a bit the lamp goes out so I'm watching through thermal they walk back to a hard road track jump in a car then start driving and lamping.
They made their way to the main road and turned west so I headed back to where I had parked my vehicle, seen the lamp going on again.
They then turned onto the main road to the farm and were lamping both sides of the road, I unloaded my rifle put everything in my vehicle and locked it up and waited on them coming up the farm road.
I was not visible to them but when they got close to me 20 yards or so I stepped out the bushes and met the car head-on, I've never seen a car reverse about 200 yards in my life lol, some will say you are stupid for that but at 6'2" and 15 1/2 stone I was ****ed off.
The other time I was standing in a field same farm looking east with the thermal and I can see a road running between two villages 1/4 mile away, Vehicle stops on the road and the lamp comes on, a roof-mounted one on a 4x4, I'm standing with a rifle slung over the shoulder sticks in one hand and thermal in the other, they picked me up with lamp then it was a bit of time before they turned it off and drove off,
Never seen the first car again from then but the 4x4 is still kicking about!

Get number plates. Don’t report to general police, but send to Firearms Licencing saying you had observed such vehicles lamping on your property where they have no lawful permission and acting suspiciously.

Withdrawal of an FAC does not need nearly the level of proof as prosecution of a criminal offence.

I've had a similar experience. When some poacher's lamp lights you up, your blood really does run cold, eh?

Then hot...😡

I’m guessing in your experience they’re usually using AK47’s? :scared: They have a unique sound when being fired at you!!
To be honest, for elephant, lots of them use homemade muzzle-loaders, fabricated from lengths of steel gas pipe. They use 10mm rebar cut into 40mm lengths and wrapped in a cloth 'sabot' as bullets. Dampened match-heads ground up and then redried make for effective primers. More than a few of them only have one hand and a pockmarked face...

Last night a few fields, seen this morning by my daughter on her horse welfare trip, that are seeded are being used as a race track, presume frustrated or excited poachers - so frustrating
