Who cares if it works? It reduces friction to the point where you can use the same load you would with a standard lead cored bullet (usual precautions applied of course). it also dramatically reduces fouling.
Having shot alot of "bimetallic jacket" bullets for a good while and there's many service rifles out there that have seen nothing but this type of ammo, I'd say abit of soft copper isn't going to bother 4140 chromoly or even 416 stainless. Having to drive some brands faster to get them to expand properly is going to cause the wear and tear from the powder. The metal on metal wear is going to be nothing in comparison. For stalking I wouldn't worry.
