Nice!
I'm just waiting on a 6mm Creed being finished. Just on a Rem 700 S/A.
What bullets are you shooting through this? The chap that's built mine is currently doing a load development with 80 gr YT copper.

Hi Sam,

I’m currently using the Hornady 103gr ELD-X with Viht N160 as I don’t have the need to move to copper yet. They perform very well on vermin and Fallow! Yew tree TLR of Barbed LRX will be my go to when I need to move to copper.

A work in progress:

Mauser 66 SM telescopic bolt action with an interchangeable barrel system - the original Blaser… Handed down as a gift for completing my doctorate, it is now firmly in my hands!

Specs:
  • .308 Win
  • Telescopic bolt making it ~9 cm shorter than equivalent rifles. It's as slick as a hot knife through butter with impeccable engineering for a rifle designed in the 60’s.
  • ~20 inch barrel with original iron sights so no moderators here
  • Double set adjustable trigger
  • Apel pivot mounts with a Zeiss 6x42
  • Stock made by Alan Hadjio of Schaftwerk - high grade walnut, horn pistol grip cap with a roe buck inlay
The overall length of the set-up is ~39” (99 cm) so quite short - ideal for woodland stalking. Don’t be fooled though, before coming into my hands this rifle had previously taken roe and reds up to 300 yds on the hill, and a fox out to 350 yds all with a 4x32... Accuracy is not an issue with this and its more than capable of holding its own with modern counterparts. Not bad for an old rifle! Before the cerakote and synthetic stainless brigade jump in don’t worry, there’s one of those in the cabinet. Let’s face it though, we all appreciate more pleasing things on the eye!

Next job is to drop the new stock off for bedding to the magazine/'receiver' and barrel. Then off out on the hills!

I actually have 2 the same in 6x47 lapua .

Day gun is a
Dolphin action right bolt left port
March 5-50x56
Sasson barrel
PSE stock

Night gun
Russell gall right bolt left port
March 2.5-25x52
Sasson barrel
PSE stock

Who flutes the barrel? I like the longer flutes. Most you see are only half the length of the barrel and stop well short of the chamber end.

Oh my, some fantastic rifles here! And the groupings some of you get, gsus!!! Hats off.
But I’ll join here with a less exclusive semi custom.
Winchester m70.
Barrel: Sako 75, changed from 243win to 6mmbr.
Stock: Thumbhole from Boyds(painted it, to flashy imo) I’m now trying to build another one, made of half a original stock, and some left over wood from our sauna seats 😂
Contessa rail, Meopta Optika6 scope, Atec supressor, check rest homemade and a pair of cheap Decoy bipods.
Got it Cerakoted, just because…
I shoot factory loads, Lapua Scenar L 90 grains.
Pictures:
1:The homemade stock, not done but slowly getting there.
2:Two black grouse, think the longest hit that day was 225 meters.
3:My best 3 shot group at 100 meters. A common group size is 12-15 mm.
4:A closeup of the tool.

The action is still the sako 75 , everything else has changed . Sassen barrel in 260 , Ceracoat, Mcmillan , bedded with pillars . Wears a number of different scopes depending on the job at hand , origonal early T8 moderator ( look after them and they last )

How does it feed the 6mmbr from the original mag?

I chickened out going 6mmbr in my 85 ‘s’ action for fear of magazine and feeding issues.

The stock modification looks brilliant.

It feeds perfect, no problem what so ever.
Had a Sauer 200 in a 6mmbr, which had some issues. But the M70 action just works really well.

How the hell does that sling arrangement work.......🤷‍♂️
It a;- shortens the sling b;- keeps the stock's butt snug to one's side and c;- permits barrel down carry if required. I only came upon this approach when desperately trying to find a meaningful way to carry my poorly balanced Daystate air-rifle:
K
Ps: Sling laid over scope turret for picture only!
