This new medical for for the doctor do the police send it to you to take to the doctor or do the police send it to the doctor direct to fill out
Ok thanksThe Police will contact your GP
Think it's £60 I've heardWatch out for your GP trying to charge you money for filling in the form
Varies wildly from practice to practiceThink it's £60 I've heard
It will only get worse as they try to wear us down, continuity be dammed..In Lincolnshire you have to download it, print, take to the quack and pay for it, BEFORE they will read your FAC application.
The full problem with this is doctors are left wing they dont like shooting. My doctor said more or less only police and army should have guns. I have hear of cases where a woman has been to her doctor about hormonal woman things . The doctor fill out the form say do not grant she has mood swings . This is what your dealing with and the fact that an appeal is going to cost around ,£20k the police know this . That's why they do thing they do. Shooting orbs insurance is not worth the paper it's written on. That case above they would not honor that if it was refused because that's in the realm of mental health. That case above was told to me by a inspector in firearms .they did not refuse it because his words did not want a group of women outside his work with placards but it shows you what the doctors are up too.

I am just tell you what inspector pettie told me police scotland . It was him who said that. doctors try to misrepresent info so it could be viewed in a bad light the police told me that they were well aware of that.it must just be me all the doctors in my practice are anti gun but it seem alot of yours are deer stalker ect oh well I just tell the truth not invent it.Likewise above my doctor is neither left-wing nor anti-shooting, I fear that your sweeping generalisation of the medical profession may be a little harsh....
The point in the medical checks is that your doctor is not being asked their personal views on shooting, so whether they believe that "only police and army should have guns" matters not a jot.
In the case you describe I would double check with the "inspector in firearms" that he wasn't just talking because he liked the sound of his own voice.
A doctor is not asked whether a certificate should be issued, they are requested to verify if the applicant has ever suffered from, or been treated for, a specific list of conditions and if the answer is yes, then provide factual, medical details.
I am currently going through my renewal and the list that I presented to the doctors surgery when I dropped the paperwork off did not include "going through the menopause" (which is what one assumes you mean by "hormonal woman things"?), it did however include conditions such as bipolar disorder or anxiety, which can manifest as mood swings.
To claim that it would be impossible to fight a refusal on grounds (specifically) of the menopause because it is in the realms of "mental health" and would therefore not be funded by any insurance cover are, quite frankly, ludicrous.
Likewise are claims that the police would refuse to refuse (if that makes sense) because they were worried of a feminist backlash.
Finally, I must have missed the bit where your story shows "what the doctors are up to"? Could you perhaps explain?

Listen that was said colin shedden was there as well. Hes never said mrs x y or what ever he was just recalling a story. Police Scotland do as they please. I was there because of a creative doctor not tell the facts.i was told not to change doctors as they had to write to them . He also said if I had £1 for everytime I heard that. Change doctors. What people do and what the form says are 2 different things. I only trying to tells yous. If you think I am making it up up to yous. The requirement is quite clear. Doctors are asked for factual medical information, not for an opinion. Their personal opinions on private ownership of firearms is irrelevant.
I should also wager that if Police Scotland are discussing individual applicants with others then they will likely find themselves in breach of data protection policies...
