Quad sticks. Worth it ?

Quad sticks are definitely worth having. Whether you spend a few hundred quid, or make your own for under £20, the end result is the same.
I'm confident taking deer out to 230 yards off my homemade B&Q jobbies.
Someone gave me their b&q ones when they upgraded. I love them. Lateral movement is limited but for longer shots (OP says 150 on) you have time to move the sticks a bit. I’m with you.

You could always enter the monthly draw where winning is a guaranteed doddle…..
Best let me have your name now for mein liszt!

For my stationary fox work, I use the Rekon tripod with hog saddle which works perfectly. On the move, it's the Primos trigger sticks. I'm on very hilly ground and find quad sticks take too long to get just right when you only have a very limited time to take a shot

Using viper flex quad sticks, very usable and steady. Have taken bipod off rifle as not needed now for where I shoot.

Viper flex with 5th leg. Buy once cry once tripod ideal for woodland and the 5th leg lets you take shots as far as you would ever want to
This.
Spend a bit more and buy these. You won't regret it. I don't even bother putting the bipod on the rifle now as I'm more confident using these.

Quad sticks beat any other field support solution I have tried for repeatable accuracy.

Of the quad sticks available, I first tried Viper Flex. Undeniably good, but the flat rest's predispostion to tilt [unpredictably] under vertical loading was off-putting.

Next were garden canes. Excellent rigidity, but weighty to carry and not compact.

My final choice have been my go-to for a couple of years. The significant features:

  • Stable horizontal platform
  • Lightweight
  • Compact and can be broken down and carried in suitcase

Because you state " dragging deer" with them to my mind there is only one choice and its nothing that telescopes up and down or is made of thin walled tube . That's most sticks on sale commercially off the list then ?!

I normally just drag deer with climbing loop round the neck. On rough ground ive used the sticks behind me for equal grip with looparound them or through another climbing loop.

Bogpods do it so woukd like the option

Anyone tried or have Mjoelner ?
Yep, despite my recent "squeak" thread they are great. Squeak sorted now and my fault for not drying them.... ever....

Mjoelner Hunting FENRIS II ALUMINIUM Quad Sticks – Best Fox Call

Have a mate with the carbon version, £250 from same supplier. Both are solid. they do a collapsable one too... Rob at best fox call is a top bloke to boot.

As far as swing (left to right) is concerned, you soon learn how to tilt one leg up and pivot the whole thing.

Good example how a (if loaded) rifle could be pointed to the housing estate 2 miles away....mind you if it was a
Creeks Moore it would only get half way...

Agree…it’s warm and natural feeling in the hand, makes a pretty natural sound if clambering through/over obstacles…& best of all…unlike your £500 carbon sticks…it doesn’t conduct electricity when hoping over stock fencing ⚡😉👍

I had a look at a set in Cluny not 2 hrs ago and they just seemed a massive faff

I dare say a lot of practice might make the better but I’ll not be replacing my primos tripod anytime soon that’s for sure .

Seeland quad sticks for 150 worked for me for a couple of years. I did upgrade to Viperflex. However, I dont think the upgrade was worth the money. Only advantage I can see is the legs spread further on the viperflex.

the whistling holes is a major design flaw IMO
