Quad sticks. Worth it ?

I have the Mjoelner carbon fibre, really nice and easy to use but I don’t think I would have paid for them.
That said, the B+Q sticks are now supporting nasturtiums and going nowhere ever again.

Started with B and Q ‘two pole’- worked well but I needed some more stability!!
Got a set of trigger sticks- now use them for rabbits/ .22/air rifle only.
Bought stablesticks- really good and I carry them for every stalk. They give me confidence for the shot, are light and so far (4-5 years) have been resilient.

I made some limulus ones and they are very good, however once you have tried the blaser you will know why people say that they are very good

I use seeland quad sticks, do the job exactly the same as more expensive sets. Once your used to quads they are brilliant, takes time and patience

I use Viper flex sticks
did have some home made ones which done the job however the viper flex are more sturdy and you can move the front of the rifle without having to re position the sticks

seeland quad sticks are sturdy, lightweight and easily collapsible for storage, they were on sale on bushware a while ago for about £60.

I was listening to a professional stalker who does a lot of client stalking and he said the number of woundings he deals with is down dramatically. He puts quad sticks as the reason for this. That speaks volumes.

2 months ago I’d of said 4 stable sticks. Sadly the quality has dipped of late-since I bought mine (which have been great) 2 pals have bought them and they’ve broken..and quickly. I think it’s bottom end of the viperflex range for my next set, which in fairness I’ve never heard of anyone regret buying.

Try and get a used pair of these as pre circa 2021 they had metal rods that went into the stick from the rest part, they have now switched to plastic and so I lost a screw and a mate broke his, typical money saving exercise that has led to an inferior product. Shame as they are thinner and lighter than my Viperflex that cost three times as much

I have had mine over a year, no problem at all. I know several others who use them. Only set I have heard of breaking was as a result of an idiot trying to open them way too wide. Manufacturers can't be held responsible for stupidity.

Used the limulus ones for close to 10 years now, and they do everything I need. Put them together as twin sticks for close shots, or out to quads for shots to 200+. Took a buck at 250 some years back, and had no doubts where that bullet was ending up. Also great to put through the legs for either dragging on your own, or if two people, one on either end of the sticks for pulling a red deer.

Rate them highly

I would have agreed with you prior. The ones i have (and still use weekly) are aluminium, the green ones my mates bought are synthetic and both snapped where the cradle joins the pole. Both bought similar time, and failed on the same stalk together! My guess is an accountant got involved in production. No idiocy involved 👍

I use 4Stable sticks and would not want to ever be without them. However, the Stable Sticks shown above from Countryman of Derby look to be a a bargain that would tempt me if I did not have quad sticks already.

Prior to quad sticks I always used a pair of sticks as my main rest for stalking. Moving to the quads was a revolution and has literally doubled my effective range when out on the foxes with the .204.

Ive used them on range and with a gude once. Seemed steady but a bit limited left and right. Different than the trusty bogpod long bipod for sure which has had more than I can count. Before that I had a prmos trigger stick-average in my view. Dont really fancy garden canes.

I can shoot well enough off long bipod sticks and light to carry but looking for an advantage 150-200m.

Now as someone who doesnt like spending money, I dont want to buy viper flex carbon fibre etc etc at £499 or whatever ridiculous price they are now.

What do people use and recommend say under £150? Ideally collapsible or take down amd fairly lightweight to bring overseas if I need to. Strong enough to assist dragging deer …

Nobody will see them apart from me, wont be showing them off or preening about latest toy. Purely functional.

Anyone tried or have Mjoelner ?

Thanks
I have quad sticks. Best money ive ever spent.

Good example how a (if loaded) rifle could be pointed to the housing estate 2 miles away....mind you if it was a
Creeks Moore it would only get half way...
