Ill be honest I prefer glass optics for stalking, though Id certainly like a thermal for foxing.
But ill fill out a firearms licence application and pay the fee the day they get a projectile to fire out of the obj lens

you don’t need, I had a good friend from the Ireland spent a lot of money on optics and then came and saw with me how I do things and that’s when reality kicked in that he has wasted a lot of money on features he didn’t need. Do as you please, if you want all the bells and whistles, don’t gripe about the price!
To be fair, I could get illum/parralax/bdc turrets for less in another brand, a Zeiss V8, maybe less mag, than S&B, but with the ground I have to stalk I would say definitely an advantage. But everyone stalks there own way based off of equipment and experience.That’s all

Can't fault ya pal Im only jealous. I seriously beginning to think there's something up with me. For first time in life I've got a bit of spare cash all to m myself, and lots of things I can afford I'd like but just can't bring myself to spend it. Then I get angry at myself but still don't like spending. It's annoying.
Im in the same boat, I have S&B, Zeiss V8, ZCO money, buts still a lot of money to spend but also I can't take it with me, ill have my choice researched to death before I buy
So its not so much the Schmidt, besides the Meta, their current hunting line is quite feature poor for the price point if you get me. Its not the price overall its what you get for it if that makes sense. The Polar T96 seems a better offering, and its not even listed on their site anymore, vs what is.Don’t buy a Schmidt then

Last PMII I purchased took quite a while to be delivered as they are now made to order, when it did arrive it was faulty and had to go back to the factory for repair. I then discovered that the glass isn't all that good either compared to other similar priced brands/models, I used a Vortex Razor Gen3 as a stop gap scope while awaiting my repair and was so impressed by the optical quality that I ended up selling all my PMII's, it's all marketing hype and BS. Check out some of the indepth reviews on SnipersHide forum first before you dump £3.5 - £4k on a scope.
The thing is I like the feature set of the Meta, Im not looking at the PM II models. The 5-25/6-36 is too much scope for my use and the 3-12 is anaemic for the price vs ZCO/Kahles at the same price point and the 3-20 is €1000+ more
I was saying that if you look at the US market, the vast majority of reviews are of ZCOs, March, Kahles, NF and Leupold.
For hunting the Meta is well thought of

I use a S&B 2.5-10×56 illuminated klassik, shot on range days out to 1000yrds with it (not accurately might I add at that range, just a bit of fun with the lads) but for stalking ranges and out to 400/500yrds its spot on and very accurate/clear even at last/first light on the 6.5x55se. Never misses a beat, 10 year warranty when I bought it new 3 years ago for £1000 in a closing down sale. Holds zero very well even after a few knocks from the truck/quad/tripping over. No ballistic turrets or dialing in. 1" high at 100 yrds and some basic hold over for longer stuff is all I need. Ive had swarovski z6i, leupold and I tried zeiss scopes until I found what I liked and worked for me, think its all just personal taste and budget at the end of the day they all do the same thing...

I think with S&B you're very much paying for the name but the new PM2 6-36×56 does have some pretty nice features i havent heard of before. Some strange acronym for the elevation turret that makes the clicks more tactile and other fancy features that make it cost over 4k. Maybe the ZCO 4-20 would be a better choice for you? Or the new vortex razor gen 3 4-24x44 if you want something abit cheaper. I have a k525i-dlr on top of my rifle and its hands down the best scope I've ever owned

S&B main business is supplying military specialists with top quality gear. It needs to be tough enough to deploy out of an aircraft, landing into sea, swim ashore, trudge many miles and make a first round hit on a distant target. S&B are built to this level and that is expensive to do.

A great scope, I don't target shoot anymore only stalk, Ive used a 3-12 to shoot out to 800m before on targets. The lack of adj parrallax, and bdc, and tbh the 4a ret just wouldn't suit my needs.
Haven't seen the 6-36 tbh, and it would be too much scope for a stalking rifle. Im looking at the ZC420H, its around the Meta price wise. The Razor gen 3 would probably be a bit heavy for a stalking scope, although it does have the warranty(as much as some people knock it). Havent looked through the k525.
Yea, completely agree with that, but Im looking at the hunting line of optics not the PM series.
