Yes we all know that. But the pandemic only created more of a problem. Little was shot for most of the winter months, so several months deer had a free range, which left a lot of catching up.
While this is true to an extent it was also used as a convenient excuse by some who were neither killing enough deer or attending where they had the stalking lease prior to Covid.

Quite possibly. But it didn't help that's for sure. Even my guides who work with me were refused by their constabulary, as it was not their main employment.

Really!!!
About a year ago I drove past there on my way up to my areas in Bedfordshire.
I pass this way a great deal.
The field adjoining the M25 and backing onto theA12, was absolutely covered in Fallow. An estimated guess would he in excess of 400 to 500. I have never seen so many on that one field.
Thats not counting what I saw onbthd opposite side where they are extending the junction.
So whoever is shooting or stalking on there needs to up their game plan.
That corner has been a problem for at least 8 years….

Tillhill were very quick to provide "essential worker" status to their deer lease holders

Never work

Carcass standards as been said by some at low….. now imagine a community larder and you turn up and bins still full or place not properly cleaned / wiped down ….
Maybe I’m glass half empty but seen too many shared facilities ruined by manky bar stewards !

There are trchnical solutions - access control with RFID chip keyrings and 4 digit code - creates a log, aligned to either cctv or facial recognition.

Leave it manky and its easy to trace (the threat of being caught is enough to manage behaviour).

Perhaps a better way is commercially /NGO (who receive grants) owned chillers which you pay to use? Larger numbers enables more frequent collections?

Not all the time. Tillhill stopped us from shooting over new plantations during both lockdowns. Then they complained about damage🙈

Did they give a reason for a suspension like experiencing high public use or tillhill workers in situ

No just phoned up and said we couldn’t stalk.
TBH I think it might have had something to do with the landowner.
They were funny times and a lot of fear about.
