Stalking load out - what do you carry?

What do you carry in your bag/on your person when you’re out hunting?

Here’s what I take out with me every time:
• Ear Defence
• Head torch - especially during last light stalks.
• Spare battery’s (these are both for my head torch and my scope)
• Cylumes - useful for marking things out at night like blood during a last light shot.
• Blaze orange arm band - legal requirement in many places (especially for driven shooting)
• Trigger lock - legal requirement in some countries when transporting a firearm but I just do it to be extra safe.
• Show clear flag - always keep it in my rifle when I’m not using it.
• Buttlo roe call and ACME fox call
• Ammunition and belt holder
• Caliber specific pull through and cleaning kit - useful for clearing any blockages in your barrel
• Large game drag - makes life a lot easier when it comes to the extraction
• Documentation - hunting license, insurance, etc.
• Lens cleaning kit - especially in wet or dusty conditions
• Range finder
• 8.5x50 Delta forest II Binoculars
• Gralloching knifes
• General purpose knife
• Quad sticks
• Obviously- rifle

Exactly...as taught many moons ago in the army... they're made to plug a bloody hole...tadah! Perfect size to stop a serious bleed in case of an accident. Carried them in my personal 1st aid kit in army and police...just in case

Tell you what I do carry, just remembered. A cough killer. Bought it in the States years ago. I rarely cough, but when I do it's usually just the moment something steps out! Been very useful. I need to see if I can adapt it to be a roe call too.

My kit:

Knife

Snood
2x 2m bits of paracord

I am fortunate in that my stalking is at my back door- so I carry a knife and that’s it...

'You're not hunting him.... he's hunting you.'

'They drew first blood, not me.'

'Don't Push it. ...'

I find I am carrying less and less these days. When I started I used to carry a rucksack full of stuff that never got used. Of course it depends on where/how/what you’re stalking. A key point is how far away your car or 4x4 is, and it’s proximity to wider civilisation. For high seat shooting for example a small flask of coffee and a cut out piece of roll mat are invaluable in winter.....but if on foot not so much. You get the idea.

I do not carry all that ever ! However I do carry sterilising whipes for tge knife and my hands . Basic infection control and genral hygiene! I used to carry two knives but being honest that started during foot and mouth and I was shooting higher numbers then . Today if I get one I am done , it becomes work after that .
Telling a small porkie here because I do have a Swiss army knife on my keyring but using the neck carry kydex shieths I make for my knives , they never get put down during the gralloch ( most knives are lost puttingbthem down tieing off the asparagus etc ) but isn't that a bit unhygienic anyway? If I was eating outside and dropped my fork , I wouldn't continue to eat with the same one without a good wash .

field gralloching blade, piece of paracord, plus fully charged headtorch and phone
3+3 rounds, rifle, sticks and binos, small flask in the winter or water in the summer
