Tikka T1X

I should add that when I bought the rifle I tried 5 different types of subsonic ammo in it to see which worked best
CCI
Winchester
Remington
RWS
Eley

All of them worked well, but I settled on CCI mainly because they come in boxes of 100.

I waited a year to get my 20 inch version. Liked it so much I bought another 2 months later. One for target shooting, one for hunting. My target model in a KRG stock and will shoot 10 shot groups (outdoors) at an inch or better if the wind and caffeine doesn't take it's toll.~Muir

Got the 16" 22 LR with a Parker Hale moderator.

Stock is smaller than a regular Tikka T3 stock, replaced it with a PSE Multi Purpose and a machined aluminium triggerguard.

There will be some flex in the receiver (its made to the same footprint as the T3) but nothing to worry about.

Mags are expensive, but worth getting at least 1 spare.

Good design, shoots well. I clean the bolt and action but not the barrel as when I did clean it after 500 rounds I felt accuracy dropped a little but came back after half a box or so.

Go for it, the Bifrost is a great stock and the T1X will just drop in.

That's my plan for when Dear Leader Nicola permits the gun shops to open again. I have a T3 Super Varmint .223 in a Bifrost stock, handles very well. The only niggle is the cheek piece adjustment is a bit fiddly, when on the range and having to remove the bolt at the end of each detail it gets a bit tedious as the bolt will not come out with the cheek piece raised.

It's one of the most fundamentally sound rifles released in the last few years. Good price too. A (NEW) CZ killer???

I don't know about CZ killer.
There are many more CZ rimfires in circulation than Tikkas, and CZs are still significantly cheaper than T1Xs.
However, if like me, you own Tikka centrefire rifles, the fact that the trigger in the T1X is the same as the T3s and the stocks are interchangeable does make it a bit of a no-brainer

The T1X has been out for two years. The CZ for 50 years. I'm guessing there are more CZ's than Tikkas! :) Are CZ's cheaper in the UK than T1X? Here it's about the same.~Muir
