Are you thinking of necking up a 6.5prc case, or necking down the 300prc ?

I understand that the 7-6.5 PRC is gathering interest in the FTR Open world, if it takes off it will open up options though you will probably have to hand load.

I’d be interested in hearing how this develops.

7-6.5prc is fashionable at the moment. I’m not sure it does anything lots of other cartridges don’t already offer for deer management, or F-open for that matter.

Not anytime soon. But Michael Rainback is building 7PRC R8 barrels as we speak. Mine arrives next month. Can’t wait!

OK, so now that 7mm PRC brass has finally landed in the UK, has anyone on here started actually using this calibre?

I'm about to go for a rebarrel, although as I'll be using a Tikka T3x action it looks like I'll need to invest in an MDT chassis system to be able to use maximum OAL 180gn loads, the Tikka LA mag is approx 1mm too short, but ok for lighter/shorter bullets.

Well said above . My 2peneth rem mag does the job and recently been fair bit of factory ammo . Went Bulgaria before xmas 3 boar didn't argue with it either

I tried a dummy 180gn ELDM round in a Tikka 300WM LA mag and it was around 1mm too long for the mag, that was going by SAAMI max OAL.

Actually.... just seen that Hornady are quoting an OAL of 3.320" for their 180 and 190gn bullets so that should fit OK in a LA Tikka mag.

However, an interesting article on rifleshootermag.com claims better accuracy with an OAL @ 3.375" for the 180gn ELDM. Will depend on chamber/freebore etc

That's what I did - no issue!

As did I. 7mm/284 just incase of a change of heart! But think 7prc seems the sensible choice!
