Bikes. Ohhh lets see now. oh yeah still riding. Off to Camarthen the following week on the trusty GS and then a pub somewhear near Llangurig the week after. I still likes bikes.
I bought a heated jacket years ago. Best money ever spent. You can ride in the snow and still be toasty. Not that I attempt to do that very often these days. Mind you, you can cross the snowline on the alps in June going over some of the passes. I have a photo of a mate of mine making snow angels can't remember which pass it was. I wasn't leaving the bike. I was plugged in and warm.... :D
Actually its been a couple of years now. If we get some good weather next year I think a week on the continent would be good again.

SWMBO bought me a ZX9R for my 40th. I think she opened a new life policy for me about the same time. After 3 offs and being referred to by two of the beating team that also happen to be paramedics as 'oh, here's donor boy' I called time and sold it.

ooh classics now those i like , spent many a night in the garage getting high in cazzy r and stripping a trident with titanium valves and pushrods close box the works and last years of racing a honda 350 twin with a prototype 5 speed box atb, wayne
TRIDENT!!!!.....I have a special memory of that particular brute, I was just turned fifteen, an apprenticed mechanic, my duties on end of business for the day, wheeling in all the stock from the gutter, after I had been missing for a while, one of the grown ups came & lifted said machine off me, I had slipped in the snow & got between it & the road

ha ha got that tee shirt when i was 19 i had abit of an off ,i broke my leg in 8 places and on the road to recovery i had an external fixator fitted with a fibreglass cast for the femur i lived out in the stix so i thaught it was a good idea to get back on the horse so to speak but i couldnt bend my knee far enough to sit on the bike seat so everyday i would sit stand on the bike and lower myself onto the seat until i was able to sit properly after this i put two walking sticks down the back of my leathers and and rode out on the bike to phisio only trouble was it was a cold morning and i pulled up at the traffic lights and leant the bike over on my dodgy side and couldnt get my foot down in time so ended up with it on top of me  till someone came to my rescue and to top it off the nurse went balistic when i pulled up at the hospital.
finnbear the trident was in full race trim with a slippery sam ally tank and letterbox fairing it was a **** to start with everything being high comp ,i couldnt get on with the gears being on the wrong side so converted it to the left . i will see if i can find pictures my friend still has this bike now but only on the road , atb wayne

Probably going to get rid of the Triumph next year though as not getting much use, might have to find myself some nice Japanese 'classic'!

I thought I was doing well with my list but this reads like a garage advert!

Mine were:

Yamaha DT175, KTM 400GS, Kawasaki KLR600, Yamaha FJ1100 (when I was 19, bet you could not get insurance for that nowadays...), Yamaha FZ750, Kawasaki GPZ1000RX, Yamaha IT250, Suzuki GSXR750...

I want to get another bike now the kids are a wee bit older but the one I (and my lads) fancy, a Triumph Explorer is a bit too much just now. May end up with a KTM Adventure...

Days of chin on the tank and arse in the air are over...

i used to be into motox, when i was 16 ( along time ago 1989) my right knee extended forward leaving my foot pointing inwards just under my chin. Everything except the skin was destroyed resulting in an artery that was pulled apart, the motor nerve that moves my foot was pulled apart, all the ligaments damaged and the cartilage. it took a while to get back on my feet and i got another bike approx 6 months later, the first day out running it in, i clipped a bank with the same leg and fractured 7 bones in my foot due to the lack of blood supply the bone edges had gone slightly porous. that was the end of my biking days, i would love a road bike but the risk ans stress to my parents and family wouldnt justify the buzz i would get from riding again.

my dad bought a triumph a couple of years ago and he would give me a spin on it every now and again.

Seems the memories are awakening here!, before I started my mechanical training I thought it would be a good idea to do a temporary repair on my moped's detached front mudguard, (good stuff that farmer's friend), flat out 30 mph, mudguard decided to detach again & go right around to stop the bike dead, launching me over the high side, no gloves....... You can guess the rest!

Iv had many bikes, loved them and still do, but after one to many near misses I sold my last one a couple of years ago.

I'v had -

ZX6R, YZFR6, RSVR1000, GSXR1000, and three ZX10R {craziest bike ever} Apparently it could wheelie up to 120MPH {on track days of course} !!! :norty:
