Deer extraction.

Is anybody using a Lumag MD500EFN • Remote‑Controlled Electric Dumper for the larger deer extraction from places without 4x4 vehicle access ?
I am unable to store a quad anywhere and am thinking that the Lumag would fit/live in the back of an extended cab pick up and used for a particular woodland contract that only has footpath access.

It's an interesting idea.

You could still go for the quad option - I used to transport my quad in the back of double cab, open topped Pick Up (fitted with a winch). Required removable folding aluminium ramps to get the bike up on to the tail gate and a couple of short scaffold boards to allow the wheels to ride up on to the bed wheel arches. Due to length of quad I had to drive with tailgate down. (Maybe wouldn't have to do that with a Single cab or extended cab). Ratchet straps and the winch wire secured the bike in place. Offloading just required paying out on the winch.

Big benefit of the Dumper is the carcass can be left in the load bed for onwards transportation.

I hate you! Quick internet search follow-up finds this smaller (and cheaper) one! Soooooo tempted! It's the same engine as the bigger one and I think a 4wd wheeled version may be easily to keep serviceable than a set of tracks :-|

Chap who supplied the deer for the practical on my DSC1 (North Devon) turned up with it in something similar on the back of a ranger or similar. Seem to remember some discussions about whether tracked or wheeled was better as tracked can eat up the grass etc.
