That very nice lady doesn't know what she is talking about. I've done it several times and I'm sure that many others on this site have done the same all over the country.

I totally agree unfortunately there no consistency between different forces up and down the country I’ve been waiting for a one for one almost a year it so frustrating but what can one do there’s no one accountable.

I have been told of a company that makes one item...... some go into a box labelled 'flash eliminators'. they need a licence, the others go into the box marked muzzle brake...... not a licensable item!

To what extent do you agree or disagree that the requirement to obtain a certificate from the police in order to acquire and possess a sound moderator should be removed?
rather bizarrely overlooks the fact that the only thing purpose for which you unequivocally need the FAC authority for currently is the actual use of a moderator on a S1 firearm: rather than its acquisition or possession.
Well they were wrong, perfectly correct and I have done it loads of times!Haha yeah tried that was told not possible and would need to pay the variation fee as a moderator was not considered a rifle
If a moderator is classed as a firearm it falls into the same category as a rifle.
