Primos Trigger Stick V's Vanguard Pro Stick

I always wipe the legs after a outting with a oily cloth , and have never had a problem with them ,

Yep -another primos convert. Tried other types but found them more awkward to use, heavier etc. As bow has said a little bit of care and they should last well. Mine have done so far as have at least one other I know who uses them regularly - he says hoping not to tempt fate!

If you have to maintain them by loving towling them down every time they see an ounce of moisture then grease them back up.. you don't want them. That treament is for your rifles only. Knobloch are good (though sound like a painful medical complaint), but expensive, I have a pair but use the ones I got from Jon Robson (Yorkshire Deer Stalking) more, think they were around £60.

I'm was on my fourth replacement of the promos trigger stick when I asked the shop to keep them and sell them on. Sadly they won't stand up up to the rigours of stalking wether it's the wet or what I don't know but got totally fed up when the legs were getting stuck and had to be returned and replaced.its sad really because they are a great idea silent in use easy to set up. Fold nicely when you get back to the car, but until they can sort the problem of legs jamming up then (or tell you how to fix them!) Then they are not worth buying. Sad because I really liked them.

Hi I have being using the vanguard quest t62 tripod for the last 2 seasons never let me down I go fox lamping 2 nights a week and stalk 2 to 3 days a week during the season best bit of kit I have ever used if I left them behind I would drive back for them no matter what the distance hail rain or snow the work and work very well

This may be too late for you Miles but...

Have you seen Hammond Sporting, Country Sporting Goods, UK ? They were on the BDS stand at the CLA - I was quite impressed. Quadpod with the ability to track horizontally.

I've got a Bogpod tripod which I find very good I must admit - you would be welcome to have a go if you are passing.

Tom

The Viperflex sold by Hammond Sporting are by far the best sticks. I have tried the Primos Tripod trigger stick and its ok, but I now use the Viperflex sticks. They are way stable than the Primos trigger stick, as they support both ends of the rifle. The only mod is to cover the adjustable leg hole areas, as out in the wind they sing. The sticks come with a plastic sheath to cover, but I have found a simple wrap of tape to be better. The build quality of the sticks are very good.
