The future is bright for fast twist 22cf.

Interpreting the lead sham, it occurs to me that the future is very bright for 22 centre fire. The implications of this I doubt are lost on folk.
Apologies if I'm rehashing already done to death stuff.
Yup, especially for those north of the border. DSUK on Facebook do not like you mentioning that though 🤣

It'll have been done across the pond. I'll hazard a guess at 600 tops...
Has been done this side of the pond

And further pondering that, I'd think it would be a standard chambering, so using heavies would just put the bullet into useable powder space ?
Any of you chaps with custom barrels had them throated longer to run the 70gr+ bullets ?

The .224 Clark was a 7x57 necked to .224 and used with 80 Grain bullets and a fast twist. He was laughed into obscurity back in the early 60s when suggested hunting with it.

And perfect for a Mauser 98 action then too 😀 it’s a 257 Robert’s with a bit more gas really. Smaller bullet, faster. But, with a monolithic such as barnes, the 80g could be an emphatic game taker on varmint, fox and small deer species. The only downside is the barrel wear I suspect.

I’ve a fast twist .223 and my fast twist .22.250, they ain’t going anywhere😂 il keep my .270 and 7mm rem mag for copper, the one rifle I will sell maybe with this whole lead pish is my .260 ackley! It will do soon I think.
Why do you think the Ackley will die out of interest?

Used my creedmoor with 120 gr copper on fallow no issues and 114 gr in my 6.5x55 the same on roe.

The one i shot was a Remington (built by Clark) and he hunted wild burros with it. Never caught on..-Muir

Why don't you try some Barnes TTSX 100gr in your 260 Ackley? Goes nicely in my 260 Rem.
